22/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 22 April Antonio Preto, head of the private office of European Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani, met representatives of the European Mine, Chemical and Energy Workers' Federation (EMCEF), the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) who expressed their concerns over the impact of climate change and energy prices on their respective sectors, and also over access to raw materials. The Commission noted their concerns and gave assurances that it was working hard to find appropriate solutions which would endure competitiveness while maintaining employment, the Commission said in a press release.
