EU to publish negotiating mandate in near future for transatlantic data protection deal

Brussels, 09/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 9 April, the European Commission announced that it will be publishing a negotiating mandate before the summer holidays for the rapid signing of a data protection deal with the United States. After a meeting of EU and US justice and home affairs ministers in Madrid, EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding said she was planning to unveil a negotiating mandate in June 2010 for an overarching agreement with the United States on data protection....
