South American NGOs say human rights need greater protection in EU free trade deals with Colombia and Peru

Brussels, 19/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a press release published on 15 March, four Latin American NGOs, ALOP, Grupo Sur, OIDHACO and Red UE-CAN, say that EU negotiators failed to take the desperately serious human rights crisis in Colombia and Peru into account when concluding negotiations over EU free trade agreements (FTA) under EU Association Agreements.
