COSI to focus on operational cooperation to deal with drug problem

Brussels, 12/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - COSI, the standing committee on internal security, held its first meeting on Thursday 11 March, when it decided that one of its priorities would be to tackle the scourge of drugs in Europe. Senior EU27 police chiefs stated their resolve to work swiftly towards establishing an operational project for a European pact for combating drug trafficking to deal with cocaine trafficking from Africa and heroin trafficking from Eastern Europe.
