26/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 24 February, Spain received its first former inmate from the American prison at Guantanamo Bay, the Spanish defence minister announced. Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba added that this man, a Palestinian, was one of five prisoners accepted by the government of José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. Spain agreed to receive the ex-prisoner on the condition that there would be no further legal proceedings against him in the United States and in Europe, Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba stated. The man will be allowed to work and move around Spain, but not to leave the country. Albania has announced that it has received three former Guantanamo inmates, who arrived on its territory on Tuesday 23 February, bringing the total of prisoners received by Tirana since 2006 to 11.
