17/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Commission president, José Manuel Barroso, has given the vice president for inter-institutional relations, Maros Sefcovic, a mandate for negotiating with the European Parliament over the details of the future framework agreement which will govern relations between the Commission and EP over the next five years. According to a Commission spokesperson, Sefcovic will meet negotiators from the EP, “possibly in the last week of February, in order to discuss working methods and a timeline for these negotiations”. The spokesperson added that the idea was to conclude the agreement before the summer break. The EP and the Commission already reached an agreement in January on the main parameters of the framework agreement. (EUROPE 10066). (H.B./transl.fl)
