17/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - At the invitation of its president, Yves Roland-Gosselin, the Confederation of Family Organisations in the European Union (COFACE) is to hold a seminar in Brussels on 26 March 2010 with the support of the European Commission. The seminar will be on “The role of social protection in the fight against poverty and social exclusion: which safety net for families?”. The aim of the seminar is to discuss the role of social protection systems in preventing and tackling poverty and social exclusion of families, including a debate on challenges for the future of these systems in Europe, COFACE states. COFACE member organisations, European social NGOs, European institutions, etc, will take part in the discussions which come within the framework of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
