01/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - In an interview given at the launch of the Turkish language service of the Euronews television channel, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday 30 January that accession to the EU had been “our country's dream for half a century”. When asked about the French President's opposition to Turkish accession, Erdogan replied: “Mr Sarkozy sometimes says things that defy reason. No matter what he does, we will continue in our aim until such time as all EU members say they don't want Turkey”. Without Turkey, the EU “would not be complete. There would be something missing,” he added. (H.B./transl.rt)
