29/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 29 January, the European Commission approved the acquisition of joint control of Tonen Speciality Separator Godo Kaisha (TKGK) of Japan by Toray Industries and Tonen Chemical Corporation, both of Japan. TKGK is active in the research, development, manufacture and marketing of separator film for lithium ion batteries. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
