Official appointment of Secretary General of Union for the Mediterranean

Brussels, 27/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - The French foreign ministry has announced that the appointment of Jordan's ambassador to Brussels, Ahmad Massadeh, as the secretary-general of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) was approved on 25 January 2010. France and Egypt are jointly chairing the UfM.

Bernard Kouchner, the French foreign minister, said that France had high hopes in the UfM and the appointment of the secretary-general was a key stop in setting up the UfM as an EU institution,...
