18/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 14 January, Roberto Barone took over the presidency of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE), which represents 40,000 notaries from across the European Union. He takes over from Bernard Reynis of France, who held the presidency of the CNUE in 2009. From 1986 to 1992, Mr Barone was the president of the National Council of the Italian Notariat, where he has been responsible for international relations since 2004. During Mr Roberto Barone's one-year mandate, the notaries of Europe will concentrate their actions on the implementation of the Stockholm Programme, the circulation of official documents in Europe, the adoption of the European certificate of succession, the creation of rules governing conflicts of different systems of family law and access to the law on cross-border issues, particularly by means of the development of e-Justice and the European Notarial Network (ENN).
