GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/antidumping

04/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 30 November, the European Commission tabled a proposed regulation of the Council repealing the anti-dumping duty instituted by Regulation 172/2008/EC on imports into the EU of silicon iron from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The anti-dumping measures were brought in by Regulation 172/2008/EC on imports of silicon iron from China, Egypt, Kazakhstan and FYROM and the Commission's re-examination of them, which began on 22 April, concluded that there had been no dumping during the period under investigation and that the situation as observed during this time was sustainable by its nature. The investigation focused solely on examining dumping concerning the Macedonian producer-exporter Silmak Dooel, whose exports are currently subject to anti-dumping duty of 5.4% on the Community borders.
