Parliamentarians reasonably satisfied with ICCAT measures to protect tuna - Unhappiness over Moroccan nets

Brussels, 02/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - The members of the European Parliament fisheries committee said on Tuesday 1 December, that they were reasonably satisfied with the outcome of the meeting in Recife, Brazil, in mid-November of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). They were, however, critical of the derogation granted to Morocco on the use of drift gillnets.
