Voluntary partnership agreement on legal timber felling and export to EU signed

Brussels, 19/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 20 November, the European Union and the government of Ghana will sign a Voluntary Partnership Agreement to guarantee that only legally felled wood and timber products will be exported from Ghana to the EU market. The agreement on Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade (FLEGT agreement) ha s been negotiated by the European Commission on behalf of the European Community.
