Italy guilty of failing to ban use of drift nets by its fishermen

Brussels, 29/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Following the French tuna fishing case (EUROPE 9855), it Italy has now found itself in the dock for having failed to sufficiently sanction its fishermen who, in the Mediterranean, continued to use drift nets banned by the EU on 1 January 2002.
