26/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Dutch MEP Thijs Berman (S&D) will be taking over at the head of the EU electoral observation mission for the second round of Afghan presidential elections to be held on 7 November. The Dutch representative, who chairs the parliamentary committee on relations with Afghanistan, will replace former French MEP Philippe Morillon in this post. (A.B./transl.jl)
