30/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 30 May 2008, the Commission approved the acquisition of EKO Schrottrecycling GmbH, which is active in scrap iron recycling facilities in the east of Germany. Joint control of the company will be taken over by Scholz Recycling GmbH and EKO Recycling GmbH, both of which are companies under German law and active in metal recycling. A further merger also received the blessing of the Commission on the same day: plans for the acquisition of Indra Investissements SAS (Indra) by Sita France S.A. (Sita), which is owned by the Suez group, and Renault s.a.s., which is controlled by the Renault group. Indra is a waste management company, a specialist in breaking scrap vehicles in France. Sita is active in the waste management sector and Renault in the automotive industry. Both operations were examined under the simplified procedure. (C.D.)
