25/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - The president of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, will visit the United Kingdom on 26-27 February. On Tuesday, he will meet, amongst others, the MP Michael Martin, the Speaker of the House of Commons, and Baroness Hayman, the Speaker of the House of Lords. On Wednesday, after a meeting with the former prime minister Tony Blair and representatives of religious communities, Mr Pöttering will be received by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He will then meet the current prime minister, Gordon Brown, and the leader of the Conservatives, David Cameron. Lastly, he will take part in a conference at the London School of Economics, entitled “Dialogue of Cultures or Clash of Civilisations?”. (A.B.)
