25/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - Speaking on Monday 25 February after a meeting in Ljubljana with his Bosnian counterpart Sven Alkalaj, the Slovenian foreign affairs minister, Dimitrij Rupel, voiced his hopes that the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU and Bosnia-Herzegovina could be signed at the end of March or early April. The SAA, which was initialled in December 2007, has not been signed due to a lack of progress in certain fields, particularly police reform. This could be adopted in March, said Mr Alkalaj, who then hopes to deal with the reform of the Bosnian constitution. He also ruled out the hypothesis of the Serbians seceding from Bosnia, whose Parliament last week adopted a resolution proclaiming the right to independence of the Republika Srpska. (A.B.)
