20/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition of two French companies active in the production of cold rolled steel sections, Profilafroid and Société Automatique de Profilage by Voestalpine Profilform of Austria. The parties' activities overlap in the production of cold rolled steel sections, and, although they are active in several European countries, their activities are geographically complementary. While Voestalpine is more focused in Austria, Profilafroid and SAP are more focused in France. The Commission found that the activities of the parties will overlap only to a very limited extent but would not adversely affect competition.
