01/02/2006 (Agence Europe) -At the beginning of its plenary session, in Brussels on Wednesday, the European Parliament held a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the accident in Poland on 28 January: President Borrell recalled that the roof of a building falling in at Chorzow had killed scores of people, injured hundreds more and that it was not known how many people were still missing. Josep Borrell also paid tribute, on behalf of the Parliament, to the 19 Slovakian soldiers killed on 19 January in an aeroplane crash on the way back from the NATO peace mission in Kosovo (Mr Borrell also mentioned the tragic deaths of Spanish soldiers engaged for peace in Afghanistan).
