07/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg next week the European Parliament will discuss relief to the parts of Asia hit by the Boxing Day tsunami three times. On Monday, European Parliament President Borrell will make a statement following a one minute silence. On Wednesday the Council and Commission will issue declarations at the EP and on Tuesday, the EP will vote on a resolution. On the fringes of the plenary next week, there will be a joint meeting on Monday of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs, Development and Budget Committee, attended by Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner, Michel and Grybauskaite. On Tuesday, the Budgets Committee will vote on emergency aid of EUR 100 million and on Thursday, the EP delegations for relations with the countries hit by the tsunami will be meeting.
