10/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - The July issue of AUSE Notizie, the publication of the Assocciazione univesitaria di studi europei, opens with a message addressed to the Jean Monnet Professors by European Commission President Romano Prodi and the Commissioner for Education and Culture, Viviane Reding, who stress the importance of the collaboration holders of the Jean Monnet Chairs in the vast construction process facing Europe's future following the presentation of the Commission's White Paper on European Governance (see EUROPE of 26 July, p.7). Prodi and Reding urge the Jean Monnet Professors and their colleagues to develop a "full and in-depth" debate on themes broached in the White Paper, and remind them that their work will be the focus f the debate at a symposium on "Post-Nice Institutional Reform", organised in November by the Jean Monnet Project.
