Brussels, 10/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted four Leader + rural development programmes for Spain for the years 2001 to 2006:
Aragon will benefit from a total of 76 million euro, 38 of which from the Community budget, for measures aimed at developing technologies in production and marketing, promoting cooperation between farmers and to develop training programmes;
Cantabria will receive 13.4 million euro, 9 of which from the EU, for projects in tourism, the environment, developing technologies…
The region of Castilla la Mancha will receive 82.2 million euro, 54 of which from the Community budget, for improving methods of production, to encourage co-operative activities and associations among producers and other groups, support for the role of women and young people in the economy…
The region of Madrid will be able to make use of 12.6 million euro, 6.3 of which from the EU, here too to develop technologies, better cooperation, and the preservation of the natural heritage.
