10/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - "The centre of Europe around the year one thousand": this is the theme of the exhibition by the Council of Europe which, from 13 May to 19 August 2001 in Berlin, should allow to gain a good idea of life in the Middle Ages. Project initiated by a close cooperation between museums in Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the exhibition enjoyed exceptional loans from twelve European countries. The Slovakian Minister for Culture Milan Knazko and the German Federal for the Interior Otto Schilly will be presently at the opening ceremony. The exhibition covers the same historic period as that foreseen around "Otto 1st the Great, Magdenburg and Europe", from 27 August to 2 December next.
