26/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commissioner for Social Affairs, Anna Diamantopoulou met a joint delegation of the European Confederation of Cadres (CEC) and the Council of European Cadres (Eurocadres) in Brussels on 21 February to discuss the stakes of the Stockholm Summit. The representatives of European cadres presented her with their concerns regarding lifelong learning, the recognition of qualifications, women's access to decision-taking, geographic and professional mobility, the quality of education, the activity of seniors and the link between research and the development of a society of knowledge and innovation. As for Ms. Diamantopoulou, she spoke of her will to take on board the ability of cadres to be actors in developments regarding employment, social cohesion and in the information and communication technologies.
