12/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has adopted a new organisation chart for two directions of activity (policy, legislation and legal affairs, on one hand, investigations and operations on the other) and to prepare for staff to be doubled by the end of next year. From just 160 members of staff - temporary and officials - OLAF will grow to 330 by the end of next year, the exact breakdown between officials and temporary agents depending on the results of discussions on the 2001 budget, said the OLAF spokesperson. Until now, the Commission, like OLAF, had always given the figure of 300 staff members by end 2001. OLAF launched in February a procedure for recruitment intended to establish a "reserve" list of temporary agents.
