24/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU-Turkey summit on Monday 7 March. European Council President Donald Tusk has announced that the European Union-Turkey summit focusing on migration will take place on Monday 7 March. The EU-Turkey migration action plan is the key plank of the European response, he told the European Parliament on Wednesday 24 February. A meeting with Turkey, at which all 28 member states will participate, was announced on Thursday 18 February at the last European summit (see EUROPE 11493). With the stream of migrants to the EU from Greece along the Balkans route showing no sign of slowing, the member states directly affected and the Balkans states are acting on an individual basis in their efforts to staunch the flow, with the risk of causing a humanitarian crisis in Greece.
