10/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - Consultation on sustainable development impact study for investment agreement. Stakeholders have until Thursday 19 November to put together their observations on the initial draft report on the impact assessment on sustainable development with regard to the future investment agreement between the EU and Burma/Myanmar. The initial draft report was published by the European Commission in October (available at: http://goo.gl/UOPGJ2 ). In an information note of 6 November, the Commission states that stakeholders will also be able to give their opinions at the publication of the final report in January 2016. The EU-Burma/Myanmar investment agreement aims to protect both parties and treat them fairly, to offer protection against discrimination and expropriation without compensation, and to guarantee the transfer of capital (see EUROPE 11254).
