European automotive market continues its growth in June . - Car registrations were up by 3.9% in Western Europe in June, according to the estimates of the consultancy firm LMC Automotive. This is thanks to the recovery of the market in southern Europe, which compensates for a dip in the German market (-1.9%). The official figures, published by ACEA, will not be announced until 17 July. To publish its estimates, LMC Automotive worked on the basis of the registration figures notified last week by 13 of the 17 countries of Western Europe, together with estimates for the other four (Austria, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland). Registrations, which fell in 2013 to their lowest level in 20 years, have therefore risen for the tenth month in a row, reaching 1.15 million vehicles last month, or 6.4 million over the first six months of the year, according to LMC Automotive. Over that six-month period, registrations are up 5.4%. In May, registrations also rose by 3.9%, according to the official statistics of ACEA. (IL)
