More than 3000 audiovisual media services available on demand in EU. - The latest report of the European Audiovisual Observatory indicates that, in February 2014, there were 3,008 on-demand audiovisual services established in the EU and listed in the MAVISE database of audiovisual services on demand. The main categories represented are catch-up television services (1,104 services listed), branded channels on open platforms (711 services listed) and VOD film services (409 services listed). The countries with the highest number of services are the United Kingdom (682 services), France (434 services) and Germany (330 services). Additionally, 223 services based in the United States and targeting European countries are currently available in one or more European countries. (IL)
