24/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - How can cross-border rural tourism economy in mountainous areas be boosted? On 7 June, 100 stakeholders (tourism, economic and institutional partners) from France and Italy attended the presentation of a progress report on the four projects of the “integrated cross-border plan” (PIT) (including diversification of the cross-border tourist offering, promoting traditional products and TOURVAL) in the framework of the European territorial cooperation programme ALCOTRA 2007-2013 (to promote the rural tourist economy in mountainous areas). The seminar was hosted by the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, which is the coordinator of the project alongside the province and Chamber of Commerce of Imperia, all three of which are chefs de file in PIT TOURVAL.
