30/05/2012 (Agence Europe) - Commission stands four-square with Italy after earthquakes. Following the latest earthquake to hit Italy on 29 May, European Commissioners for Regional Development, Johannes Hahn, and Industry, Antonio Tajani, will travel to the Italian region of Emilia Romagna on Sunday 3 June. European Commission President José Manuel Barroso has also sent his personal condolences and those of the college of commissioners' to the victims, adding that the European Commission is deeply saddened and wishes to express its full solidarity with the citizens of Italy. He also offered support: the Commission stands ready to provide what aid it can to help deal with the consequences of the disaster, he said. (MD/transl.rt)
