Twenty countries request further aid of at least €300 million for dairy farmers

Brussels, 13/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Vienna (Austria) on Monday 12 October 2009, the 20 EU farm ministers who have been fighting for months to get farm product markets regulated at EU level requested the earmarking of €300 million more aid from the EU budget for 2010 for dairy farmers. This is also being called for by the European Parliament's budgets committee in its budget amendments ahead of the first reading of the draft 2010 EU budget by the EP (see EUROPE 9994).
