Prospect of temporary suspension of duties on imports of certain products into Madeira and Azores

Brussels, 09/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 7 September, the European Commission presented to the EU Council of Ministers a draft regulation aimed at temporarily suspending Common Customs Tariff (CCT) duties on imports of certain industrial products into the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.

The suggested suspension of CCT duties would allow local economic operators in Madeira and Azores to import a number of raw materials, parts, components and finished products duty free....
