Brussels, 03/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - Freezing the funds of an individual suspected of terrorism does not necessarily constitute a breach of his/her right of defence. Thus the Court of First Instance of the European Communities ruled in a judgment delivered on Wednesday 2 September (joined cases T-37/07 and T-323/07). The Court states that in this instance, the Council of Ministers of the European Union had restricted the freeze to as short a time as necessary.
