Brussels, 24/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to a new estimate published on Thursday 23 July by Eurostat, the balance of current accounts in the EU of 27 with third countries registered a deficit of €58.2 billion (bn) in the first quarter of 2009, as against a deficit of 46.2bn in the first quarter of 2008 and a deficit of 68.3bn in the fourth quarter of 2008.
