According to data published on Tuesday 14 July by Eurostat, industrial production was up by 0.5% in the eurozone and by 0.1% in the EU27 in May 2009 compared to April 2009, when it had fallen by 1.4% and 0.8% respectively. This is the first monthly rise of the production indicator since August 2008. Compared to May 2008, industrial production fell by 17.0% in the eurozone and by 15.9% in the EU27. (A.B./transl.jl).
