07/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - An ethnic Albanian criminal group involved in extensive heroine trafficking between the Balkans and Europe has been dismantled after a year-long investigation, the European Police Office (Europol) announced on Tuesday 7 July. The operation, codenamed “Gasoline”, which was coordinated by the Italian and Slovenian police, resulted in the arrest of 30 suspects and the seizure of 64kg of heroine, 5kg of ephedrine, 1kg of hashish and 0.5kg of cocaine.
