07/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 7 July, the EU Council of Ministers adopted, without debate, a regulation to transpose into Community law updated conservation and implementing measures adopted by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO) (see EUROPE 9884). The changes refer to regulation of bottom trawling activities, the inclusion of a further closure area to protect vulnerable seamounts and additional port state measures. (L.C./transl.rt)
