Brussels, 18/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - European socialists are strongly opposed to the idea of the European Parliament voting in July this year on the highly likely suggestion by the European Council that José Manuel Barroso should continue in his post as president of the new European Commission. The socialists want the appointments procedure to be postponed until the autumn to allow the EP “the necessary time” to discuss the procedure with the European Council, along with the Barroso...
