15/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - As part of the recovery plan, the European Commission, in close cooperation with industry, is to launch three public-private partnerships, on “Factories of the Future”, “Energy-efficient Buildings” and “Green Cars”. €3.2 billion will be made available for long-term “smart” research investment in these three sectors. The first initiatives will be begun under the 2010 work programme following a series of calls for cross-thematic projects on relevant FP7 themes. These first calls, due to be published in July, will have a budget of €268 million. An information day will be held in the Charlemagne Building on 13 July.
