EU27 moves towards compromise on Guantanamo and SIS II - immigration debate could get heated

Brussels, 03/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - During the Justice and Home Affairs Council beginning on Thursday in Luxembourg, ministers will examine several sensitive dossiers, including the taking in of former Guantanamo detainees when the camp closes in January next year. Other dossiers up for discussion include the Second Generation Schengen Information System (SIS II) and illegal immigration in Southern European countries.
