16/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - At a conference on the future “Stockholm Programme”, organised at the start of March by the Bruges College of Europe, Justice, Freedom and Security Commissioner Jacques Barrot said that the EU should move towards a “European Schengen visa” and a common Consular authority. “The aim,” he said, “is to move, in the long term, from a nationally-based visa policy to an individualised travel authorisation policy”.
