13/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 10 February, the European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe announced the list of the five finalists for the 2009 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award. The projects that made the final line-up were selected from among 340 proposals. The winning project will be announced at a ceremony in Barcelona in May. In supporting the award, the European Commission underlines “the role of architecture as a driver for creativity and innovation” and draws attention to “the important contribution of European professionals in the development of new ideas and technologies”.
