Go ahead for OPTA proposal to enhance competition in Dutch broadcasting markets

Brussels, 12/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission, on Wednesday 18 February, approved the proposal from the Dutch telecoms regulator (OPTA) to impose regulatory obligations on Ziggo, UPC, Delta and CAIW, the four largest cable operators in the Netherlands to allow alternative providers of radio and TV (“RTV”) signals to compete more effectively with the broadcasting offers available on cable.
