Commission suggests Council compel Austria to lift safeguard measures on two authorised GMO crops

Brussels, 10/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 10 February, the European Commission announced it had referred its proposals to the Council of Ministers with a view to forcing Austria to repeal its national measures banning two varieties of genetically modified maize lines on Austrian territory - MON 810 and T25, legally authorised in the EU.
