29/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is to ban the sale in the EU of all consumer goods containing dimethylfumarate (DMF), a biocidal product used in certain everyday goods, such as imported sofas and shoes (see EUROPE 9826). EU experts on the regulatory committee on the general safety of products gave the green light on Thursday 29 January to the Commission proposal which seeks to protect consumers from the severe allergic reactions caused by DMF.
