Brussels, 21/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - The EIB is to grant a €275 million loan to Syria via the FEMIP (the European Investment Bank's financial arm for the Mediterranean) for the extension of one of the country's main power stations located 25km south of Damascus, at Deir Ali. Construction of the plant had also received support from the EU.
