European Parliament reaffirms call for cross-border enforcement of road safety measures

Brussels, 19/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - Adopting a report by Ines Ayala Sender (PES, Spain) in first reading on Wednesday 17 December 2008, MEPs confirmed their support for the draft directive to facilitate the cross border enforcement of fines on drivers alleged to have committed one of the four most deadly road crimes (breaking speed limits, not wearing a seatbelt, driving through red lights and drunk driving) (see EUROPE 9626).
